Getting to Know CRBC and Our Membership Expectations
- Important Things to Know about CRBC
- We believe in the “faith that was delivered to the saints once for all (Jude 3)” as revealed to humanity by God in the Bible. Our statement of faith is the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- We are a Southern Baptist Church.
- We believe in holding one another accountable through the practice of church discipline (e.g., Matthew 18).
- We exist to create disciples of Jesus who create disciples of Jesus (Matthew 28:16-20).
- We believe evangelism and missions are key aspects to both Christian life and church growth.
- Expectations for Our Members
- Attend Regularly
- We expect our members to attend the Sunday morning worship service, Sunday School, and our monthly member’s meetings.
- We highly encourage members to attend Sunday evenings and Wednesday evenings.
- Serve Regularly
- We expect our members to use their God given gifts to serve the church.
- Give Faithfully
- The New Testament does not command a percentage, but for many people 10% is a good place to start and increase from there as the Lord enables you.
- Grow in Your Relationship with God
- We expect our members to intentionally pursue a growing relationship with God. This side of heaven, no one will ever become the “perfect” Christian. However, through spiritual habits like prayer, Scripture reading, and participation in the life of the church, we can all deepen our relationship with God.
- Pray Often for the Other Members
- We encourage our members to pray regularly for one another. One way to do that is by praying through the membership directory.
